They're cyberdogs!

After a trip to the vet this weekend, Dakota & Lilly are now implanted with nifty little microchips intended to help them find their way home should they ever get lost. That's an extra security and peace of mind for pet owners and something we've been wanting to do for years.

The pups really don't mind going to Bogue Animal Hospital, even though it meant shots for Lilly this time around. We had them weighed, and the results are a bit astounding:
  • Dakota: 100 pounds
  • Lilly: 85 pounds
That's a lot of golden. Needless to say, their resolution for '08 is to drop a few pounds. Their three-mile runs with Brian once the weather warms up will certainly help.

Poor Meow Meow really hates leaving the house at all. As soon as we fetch her pet taxi from the garage, she scrams and hides, usually under our bed. She must've known that shots were in her future, too. But at least now she's a healthy kitty.

And, unlike her canine companions, she really doesn't get a kick out of seeing Lucy, the resident pup at Bogue, whenever we visit.

(While I'm on the topic of Bogue, you've got to check out the adorable photos of GoldenDoodles -- a Golden Retriever/Miniature Poodle mix -- on Bogue's Web site.)

Do you feel poor now that they've all been to the vets?

Always. It's amazing how much animal health care costs!

I love that picture of Brian and the dog (is it Dakota or Lilly?) at the top of this post!
