Our carpet comes in a week, so we're making other small improvements in the meantime. (It's kind of cool that you don't have to be paranoid about keeping the carpet clean. Paint spill? Tile mortar splotch? No problem. The carpet's going to the dump in a week, anyway.)
Brian's big project today was to scrape the peeling paint down to the disgusting pink sponge hearts underneath. When we bought our house, we quickly covered those atrocious things up and swore never to set eyes on them again. At least we kept our vow for five years. But after a coat of primer, we can kiss those hearts goodbye. Again.
He's had several canine contractors keeping their eyes on things:

It looks awesome. Your light fixtures are giving me some serious envy issues. I just might have to check out getting new ones in our bathrooms!
