Wonderful Woofstock

It's been a crazy-busy weekend packed full of fun stuff: a long overdue evening with good friends NiTony (and their pups Roxy and Nanook), quilt shopping with my mom, cheering KU to beat K-State at home (Rock Chalk, baby!) and eating wings and waiting an entire game to see the Chiefs score a freakin' point (OK, the game itself wasn't all that).

I also paid a visit to
Grandma, who proved once again that she's an amazing woman. She fell a month ago and quickly rebounded, doing her usual yard work, cooking, cleaning, church activities, etc. But she found out Friday that when she fell, she broke her hip! This woman has so much strength -- and a very high pain tolerance! She's due to see the doc tomorrow to find out what needs to happen next.

Despite all of the excitement, a highlight of my weekend was Woofstock, the giant puppy party in the park. If you didn't go, here's a little of what you missed:

The Eagle's booth at Woofstock featured photos by Jaime. She was amazing with the people and pets. A few of her visitors:

It was nearly a runaway bride situation.

That's a whole lot of husky!

Away from the booth, one woman and her dog were dressed as "Michael Vic patrol" in protest of the animal abuse case.

Brian, who spent the day handling Dakota and Lilly with the help of his mom, ran the two-mile fun run with our pups. They were cruising and clocking in six-minute miles and took fifth in the race! When I joined them, we chatted with other golden owners, including one woman who brought her goldens with these cute barrettes.

We spotted a spider-pug at the doggy watering hole ...

... where there also was a cute bloodhound. (Drool, much?)
