Puppies heart PetSmart
The dreary weather this week has meant that Dakota & Lilly have spent most of their time cooped up in the house. So between the farmer's market, grocery shopping and switching out four light fixtures in our house (including a ceiling fan), we took our dogs to the pet store. We have to be careful in our everyday conversation not to say the word "go." If, for example, I ask Brian if he's ready to go, Dakota & Lilly both perk up their ears, get their turbo tails to wagging and run around the house in great anticipation. They love a car ride. They love a walk. They love going to the pet store. And each adventure starts with us asking them, "Puppies, do you want to go?" Once in the car, we roll down the back windows halfway and watch them take turns sticking their heads out the window. Here's my view from the passenger's side mirror. Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear, indeed:Hi, Lilly.
Hi, Snoders.
While at PetSmart, we ran into our friends Chris and Lori, who had just adopted a beagle/basset hound mix from the Kansas Humane Society. I think the pup, whom they named Trip, has the best features of each breed. Look at that cute face and those adorable floppy ears. They're pictured at left with their little nephew. Lori told me that they saw the 7-month-old puppy online last night and just had to have him. You can see his "adopted" update on KHS's Web site. Congrats!

We can't think of why a basset would need to be improved upon, but that sure is a cute dude!
Okay, the side-mirror photos are just about the most wonderful I've seen! What a great moment to capture the utter happiness of dogs!
